Cops raid VoIP centre

KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police on Tuesday raided a hi-tech Voice Over Internet Protocol call centre operating from a rented room in Samakhusi and arrested two suspects for their involvement in the telecommunications crime. According to CIB, Sunil Kumar, 35, and Ram Karan Jat, 41, Indian nationals of Rajasthan were found running the illegal VoIP call centre. They were allegedly involved in blocking the telecom service providers’ legal gateway to bypass incoming international calls for the past few months, causing revenue losses to telecom companies.
