Kathmandu, January 25 Province 3 and the local levels of Kathmandu are the first choice of the government employees opting for adjustment. A total of 13,684 employees out of 58,653 have chosen Province 3 and 7,212 Kathmandu Metropolitan City as their first priority for adjustment. Anita Niraula, under secretary at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, said that of the total 22,755 posts in Province-3, more than half this number of employees have chosen this province for their posting. The ministry had urged the government employees to indicate their choice of provinces and local levels for adjustment. The deadline for submitting application for adjustment ended on January 16. Likewise, Far-west Province has been chosen by the lowest number of employees. Only 5,098 employees have sought adjustment in this province. Province 5 is the second choice with 10,449 employees opting for adjustment in the province. Likewise, 9,290 employees have chosen Province 1, 7,984 employees Gandaki Province, 6,927 employees Province 2 and 5,206 employees Karnali Province. According to under secretary Niraula, the employees would be adjusted on the basis of seniority. A total of 22,755 employees need to be adjusted in the provinces. Likewise, the local levels in the three districts of the Kathmandu valley — Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur – among the 753 local levels across the country, have become the first choice for adjustment among the employees. Among the local levels in the valley, Kathmandu Metropolitan City is the first choice of the employees. Niraula said 7,212 employees have indicated Kathmandu Metropolitan City as their first choice for adjustment. Altogether 354,225 employees had applied for adjustment in the local levels. Lalitpur Metropolitan City is the second choice (5,123 employees), Madhyapur Thimi Municipality in Bhaktapur the third choice (4,224 employees) and Kirtipur Municipality the fourth choice (3,936 employees) of the employees opting for adjustment in the local levels. Although 35,368 employees have the central government as their first choice for adjustment, 15, 743 want to be adjusted only in the centre. A total of 47,920 employees are required in the centre.
