Dhangadi, February 17 Far-west province government has completed one year. The province government led by Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta was formed on February 17, 2018. In the last one year, the provincial government named the province, fixed its capital and passed different laws to carry out its activities. Province Minister of Financial Affairs and Law Prakash Bahadur Shah claimed that the government had made momentous achievements, including naming the province and fixing the headquarters. The government passed 18 laws and 19 regulations. Shah, however, admitted that the government had not been able to work as per people’s needs and expectations. The province government’s capital expenditure is very dismal. Only a total of Rs 150 million was spent in six months of the current fiscal in nine districts. The province government claimed that delay in employees’ adjustment and construction of infrastructure had delayed implementation of development projects. Provincial Assembly lawmaker Chun Kumari Chaudhary acknowledged weakness on the part of the government for delay in implementation of projects. Lawmakers from Nepal Communist Party (NCP) said the last one year was a learning phase for implementing federalism. On the contrary, the Nepali Congress and Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal said that province government’s performance had let down the people and dashed people’s hopes and dreams. Province lawmaker Dilliraj Pant from Nepali Congress said the provincial government had failed to deliver due to poor leadership.
