BHIMDUTTANAGAR: Women in Kanchanpur district are compelled to eke out their family livelihood by transporting goods from the bordering Indian market.

Single and disadvantaged women of the district are resorting to import of goods on bicycles.

They are bringing in varieties of goods on their bicycles to the district headquarters, Bhimduttanagar, from Indian market Banbasa.

They need to travel about 20 kilometres a day on bicycles to import goods to the Nepali market. Each woman labourer earns up to Rs 200 to Rs 400 daily from the transport of goods.

The women shared that they spend their daily income to meet family expenses and on children's education.

Jaaki Rana, a local of Kedkot Municipality shared that they are compelled to run their family affairs from the income earned from hard labour.
