KATHMANDU: As many as 20 suspects have been arrested from Kathmandu and other districts for investigation of the explosion in front of Ncell headquarters in Nakkhu and arson at Ncell towers in other districts, police confirmed. 'We have taken several suspects in custody for investigation, but we cannot disclose details of the investigation at present,' said Police Spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police Uttam Raj Subedi. According to Subedi, six persons have been arrested from Kathmandu on suspicion of their involvement in the blast that claimed a life and injured two others. Forty-nine-year-old Singha Pratap Gurung lost his life while two others sustained injuries after an unidentified group planted an explosive device outside Ncell head office in Nakkhu, Lalitpur on Friday. Also, towers of telecommunications giant- Ncell in Kanchanpur, Rupandehi, Jajarkot and Kapilvastu among others came under attack on Friday night. Police found a leaflet stating that the arson attack was carried out as Ncell disobeyed the Supreme Court’s order, did not pay tax to the government and failed to invest in Nepal despite earning profits at the site in Kanchanpur. However, none of the perpetrator(s) of the bombing and arson has claimed responsibility till now. Meanwhile, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa met the wounded at Kathmandu based Medciti Hospital on Saturday and said that the government would bear all treatment costs of those injured in the explosion. Minister Thapa also pledged to provide compensation to Singha Pratap Gurung’s family, he who lost his life after suffering from critical injuries in the incident.
