Rajbiraj, February 27 Nepali Congress central leader Shekhar Koirala today said that NC had failed to play the role of potent opposition due to lack of morality and culture in its leadership. Inaugurating the office of GP Koirala Foundation in Rajbiraj, Koirala argued that if his party was weakened, democracy would become weak. He reiterated that his party would not become strong unless it adopted good political culture and ethics. Koirala said the party formed by the sacrifice of BP, Ganeshman, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and Mahnedra Narayan Nidhi had weakened due to intra-party rift. “The NC will emerge as a powerful force only if party leaders adopt good culture and learn ethics,” he added. Koirala flayed the incumbent government and said impunity, corruption, rape, murder and other scams had flourished in the country. Koirala also said that tension between India and Pakistan would have an impact on Nepal.  He asked the government to maintain high security alert along border areas.
