Kathmandu, March 5 President Bidhya Devi Bhandari is visiting New York on March 10 leading a Nepali delegation to the High Level Segment on Women in Power being organised by the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. Bhandari is attending the event at the invitation of María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés, president of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly. The president’s delegation to the segment include Minister of Women, Children and Senior Citizen Tham Maya Thapa, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, the president’s advisers and other officials of the Office of the President, said Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali at an interaction today. Bhandari will address a session on ‘How Women Leaders Can Change the World’ on March 12. She will return home on March 15.
