ROLPA: The shutdown, enforced by Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal, has affected the normal life in Rolpa on Thursday. CPN’s Rapti bureau had announced the shutdown in protest of the arrest and detention of its cadres by police administration. With announcement of the bandh, long and short route vehicles along with market places, factories and educational institutions in Rolpa district have remained closed. The vegetable groceries, hotels and pharmacy based in the headquarters, however, are open. Police arrested the party's cadres Pradeep Wali, Ishwori Pandey, and Rudra Wali from Tulsipur while they were attending a programme to honour martyrs, the party stated. The party sources said, police had also arrested its cadres from other places of Rolpa district. Issuing a press release, CPN Rapti bureau in-charge Keshab Bahadur Bantha informed that Dang, Salyan, Rukum, Pyuthan and Rolpa districts of Rapti would remain closed in protest of the arrest.
