Chand-led CPN abducts Bajhang MP Malla a day after police raid

DHANGADHI: Netra Bikram Chand led Communist Party of Nepal has abducted Province Assembly Member Devaki Malla of Bajhang in what comes as a reprisal against a police raid at the party’s General Secretary Chand’s village in Kapilvastu district. According to eyewitnesses, a group of 4 CPN cadres gagged Malla with black strap and kidnapped her from Bijgada in Bugal Municipality in the district. Following the kidnapping, police personnel have been deployed to the incident site. However, SudurPaschim Police Chief and Senior Superintendent of Police, Bikram Chand said that officials have established contact with the MP. Malla who represented the then CPN (Maoist Centre) was elected Provincial Assembly Member from Bajhang Constituency-2.
