Lamjung, March 9 Lack of adequate judges has been delaying settlement of cases at Lamjung District Court. Judge Komal Prasad Acharya at the court said, “We do not have problems in undertaking daily administrative work, but we have not been able to expedite settlement of cases due to lack of adequate judges,” said Acharya. “Cases can only be heard by judges, but settlement of cases has been affected due to lack of judges,” said lawyer Krishna Prasad Adhikari. “Lawyers are doing their job, but once a case is registered it remains stuck there,” Adhikari stated. The court has only one judge and when he stays on leave no cases are heard. Lamjung District Court settled 57.14 per cent cases this fiscal. Out of 251 cases, 192 were settled, according to staffer Bhumi Prasad Sharma. As many 144 cases have yet to be settled by the court. District Judge Acharya said that the court did not have any case older than two years old. This has given serious trouble to people who come to the court for justice.
