Indian national held with 64kg hashish in Makawanpur

HETAUDA: Police in Makawanpur district on Thursday made public an Indian national who was arrested in possession of 64 kilograms of hashish on Tuesday. According to DPO, 28-year-old Sameer Ahmed was arrested after police confiscated 30 packages of hashish weighing 64kg from the Tata Sumo vehicle (BR 04 B 0041) he was travelling on during a routine check at Ratomate-based check-post in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-15 in the district on Tuesday. DPO Chief and Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Kumar Singh said the illegal drugs filled in packages and moulding in cuboid shapes were found hidden between the roof and the false ceiling of the vehicle. Police said the contraband was being carried into the Indian territory via Birgunj. Meanwhile, investigation into the case is underway, said police.
