President to embark on China visit on April 24

Kathmandu, April 19 President Bidhya Devi Bhandari is scheduled to embark on a week-long state visit to China on April 24 upon the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today. During the visit, President Bhandari will attend and address the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation due to be held in Beijing. She will also attend the banquet hosted by her Chinese counterpart. According to an itinerary provided by the MoFA, President Bhandari is also set to attend the opening ceremony of the International Horticultural Exhibition and visit Nepali pavilion there. The president will hold bilateral delegation-level talks with Chinese President Xi, which will be followed by a signing ceremony. She will also meet senior Chinese leaders. She will also address a joint meeting of business community from Nepal and China in Beijing. She will also attend a reception hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing. The president will visit Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province, on her way to Beijing. She will also visit Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region of China, on her way back home. In both places, she will meet provincial leaders.
