Two arrested for possession of illegal drugs from Pokhara

POKHARA: Police on Monday detained two persons on the charge of possessing illegal drugs from two different locations in Pokhara. The arrestees have been identified as Hari Bhakta Poudel (44) of Tarakhola Rural Municipality-5 in Baglung, and Rajesh Lodh (28) of Lumbini Municipality-12 in Rupandehi. According to police, Poudel was arrested with illegal marijuana from Baglung Bus Park in Pokhara Metropolitan City-2 on Sunday evening while Lodh was arrested on Saturday from Amarsingh Chok in Pokhara-10. It has been learnt that Poudel purchased marijuana from Baglung and supply it in different locations of Pokhara. Meanwhile, Lodh purchased illegal drugs from India and sold them in Pokhara, informed Spokesperson of Kaski District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Man Gurung. Acting on a tip-off, police found 3.8 kilograms of marijuana in Poudel's possession while frisking him. Similarly, police seized 200 ampoules of Buprenorphine injections, 200 ampoules of Diazepam injections, 200 ampoules of Phenergan injections, along with a mobile phone from Lodh's possession, added DSP Gurung. Further investigation is underway, said police.
