Pokhara, April 22 Tribhuvan Army Club dominated the National Paragliding Tournament under the eight National Games in Kaski today. TAC won four each gold and silver medals to finish first in the tournament which was included in the National Games for the first time. Gandaki came second with two gold, one silver and four bronze medals, while Province-1 bagged one each silver and bronze. Province-3 won one bronze. In men’s section, TAC won the team accuracy event gold with 175 points, while Province-1 came second with 1019 points and Gandaki were third with 1345 points. Gandaki bagged the men’s cross country team event gold with 9114 points, while TAC came second with 8447 and Province-3 were third with 2496 points. In men’s individual accuracy event, Sagar Nepali bagged gold medal with 19 points, finishing ahead of his teammate Rishi Jalari (23) and Ashish Bhattarai (31) of Gandaki. Likewise, TAC’s Surajat Thapa came first in individual cross country category with 2595 points, while his teammate Bishal Thapa was second with 2550 points and Gandaki’s Ashish Thapa came third with 2545 points. TAC’s Durga Maya Gurung won the women’s individual accuracy event with 479 points, while Gandaki duo Sabita Tamang (540) and Pratibha Bhujel (573) were second and third respectively. Gandaki’s Trisha Shrestha claimed the women’s individual cross country section gold medal with 1135 points, while Swastika Gurung (657) of TAC and Susmita Sunuwar (345) of Province-1 were second and third respectively. The gliders started from Sarangkot and landed at Khapaudi near Fewa Lake. A total of 61 players — 51 men and 10 women — from six teams — Province-1, Province-3, Gandaki, Karnali, Farwest and TAC — took part in the tournament.
