Kathmandu, April 29 Jaycees Secondary School, Bhaktapur, which was destroyed in the 2015 earthquakes, has been retrofitted with the help of German citizen Yog Bar. Bar, a former colonel of Germany, had provided Rs 2.44 million to retrofit the four-storey school building. Speaking at an inauguration programme on the premises of the school, Principal Jay Ram Gorkhali informed that the school building had been constructed with financial support from Bar and he again provided the monetary help to retrofit the quake-hit building. “We were having difficulty running classes for the last few years, but with the retrofitting of the building, classes are being conducted smoothly, and students are also very happy to get new classrooms,” added Principal Gorkhali. The building was built in 2006. Inaugurating the building, Bar said he had felt very bad when he heard that the building built with his support had been damaged in the earthquakes. “But, I did not lose hope. I decided to provide support to reconstruct the building and starting collecting fund in Germany,” he added. At present, 362 students are studying in the school.
