Kathmandu, April 20:
The All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) today said King’s move to hold consultations with different politicians was a futile attempt to extend his rule.
“The drama of holding consultations with persons not related to the democratic movement holds no meaning at a time when all the countrymen are taking to the streets against the King’s autocracy,” said a press release issued by the ANNFSU today. Expressing deep condolence over the death of people fighting for democracy, the ANNFSU has asked one and all to convert sorrow into power for the establishment of democracy.
“Suppression and brutality by the security personnel at Kalanki today and in Jhapa yesterday have crossed the limits of brutality,” the press release said. Students affiliated to the ANNFSU also took out torch rallies this evening at Dallu, it said.
