Family members of local Dhanraj Sherma and his father-in-law Bam Bahadur Phiyak were killed, presumably with sharp weapons, as per the locals. As many as five mutilated bodies of Sherma family were found inside the house, while four others of Phiyak family were recovered outside. 'We are focused on finding out who and how many people are behind the mass murder,' said Superintendent of Police (SP) Uma Chaturvedi, who leads the investigation team. It may be noted that the younger son-in-law of Bam Bahadur Phiyak, Man Bahadur Makhin's body had been found at his home Miklajung-7 after the murders. He is suspected to have committed suicide and police think he might be involved in the crime. Charturvedi said, there have been challenges in the investigation process due to Makhin's death. Chaturvedi added that the clothes and khukuri found on Makhim are being taken to the Central Police Forensic Science Laboratory for tests. It has been learnt that during the course of investigation, the CIB team tried to gather evidence by talking to about 40 locals from the incident site to the place where suspect Makhin's body was found.
