Two persons buried in Makawanpur landslip

HETAUDA: Two persons are reported to be buried by a landslide at a remote village Tahadhunga in Raksirang Rural Municipality-8 of Makawanpur district on Thursday. Chief at the District Police Office, Makawanpur, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mukesh Kumar Singh said dozer helpers Sandeep Shrestha and Roshan Budathoki were buried by a landslide while constructing a road in the area. Police have suspected that trapped Shrestha and Budathoki might have lost their lives as there were many rocks in the landslip. However, the dozer operator was rescued alive, Singha Lal Chepang, Ward Chair of Raksirang Rural Municipality-6 said. A team of police from Manahari Area Police Office have reached the site but have not been able to rescue the buried duo as the landslide is massive. The Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives of Province 3 is constructing a rural road in the area.
