Kathmandu, June 22 Maj Nischaya Jung Rayamajhi won the Warstneiner Golf Tournament here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club today. Played under stableford ¾ handicap format, the fourhandicapper accumulated 40 points to claim the trophy on count back after being tied with Shashwat Bastakoti and Sailesh Shanghai. Bastakoti, who lost the trophy on the count of last six holes after being tied on 19 points with Rayamajhi, finished as runner-up as Shanghai had scored 18 points on the latter half. Raj Pradhan won the gross section title with 32 points. Along with the trophies, Rayamajhi and Pradhan received return tickets each to Bangkok, while Bastakoti got two-way tickets to Pokhara for a couple. Kalpana Limbu won the women’s section title with 38 points, while Kalyani Moktan was runner-up with 32 points. Dr Ranjit Baral won the senior category title with 37 points finishing ahead of Maj Bejoy Moktan, who earned 34 points. Sailesh Shanghai won the most birdies award with two birdies, while Sanjay Rai and Maj Krishna Kumar Ale bagged the longest drive and closestto-the-pin awards respectively. Binay Raj Pandey got the best sportsmanship award. A total of 85 golfers took part in the two-day tournament sponsored by Jawalakhel Group of Industries. Group Executive Director of JGI Sashin Joshi and RNGC President Prachanda Bahadur Shrestha among others handed over the prizes to the winners.
