LAMJUNG:  A bailey bridge, which was constructed over the Myardi khola just a year ago, was washed away by floodwater on Sunday afternoon. The bridge that links Lamjung with Manang district was swept away by a flash flood. Manang Deputy Superintendent of Police Tika Bahadur Karki said that floodwater had swept away the bridge at around 2:00pm on Sunday. A temporary wooden bridge with hume pipe was washed away at Chhahare of Timang Khola in the district. The incidents have affected movement of people and vehicles. Many locals and vehicles en route to Besisahar from Manang district have been stranded following the in the district. Lamjung Chief District Officer Dijan Bhattarai said that his office had urged the locals living downstream of the Marsyangdi River to take precaution as the water level of the river  had gone up.
