Ferry service to be established on Karnali river in Bajura

BAJURA: Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality is all set to establish ferry service on Karnali river, connecting it to the rest of Bajura district. According to the chair of the rural municipality Chiranjeevi Shahi, construction works for the ferry service have already started with the sole investment of the rural municipality. The ferry will connect Suijiula of Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality-4 and Pilichaur of Jagannath Rural Municipality-1 after completion. Sunanda Masteshwori Nirman Sewa has received the tender for the ferry construction at a cost of Rs 17.4 million and the construction is scheduled to be completed within six months, said acting administrator of the rural municipality Kuber Shahi. However, the construction company said that the duration could be extended should the roads be affected by the monsoon. With the establishment of the ferry service, Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality will have transportation access throughout the year except for three months of monsoon.
