SUNSARI: The constant downpour in the eastern-hilly region has resulted in this year's highest water level of Saptakoshi River in Sunsari District. The water level of the river was recorded at 184,745 cusecs per second today. The control room at Koshi barrage issued an alert by flashing red light and a flag. Normally, the red light is used when the water level rises about 150,000 cuses per second. According to Surendra Bhattarai, Inspector at Bhantabari, the water level was up to 165,000 cusecs per second on Thursday night. As the water level has risen, 34 out of 56 doors of Saptakoshi have been opened.
