KATHMANDU: Vikram Gurung, famous musician and singer, is all set to feature in this month's Paleti concert at Nepalaya's 'r' sala in Kalikasthan, Kathmandu, the organiser said. Acclaimed composer Vikram Gurung, who was born in Tamagi Gaun near Phewa Lake in Pokhara, currently resides in Hong Kong has arrived in Kathmandu for the show, according to Nepalaya. Vikram Gurung's musical career rosed to prominence only after collaborating with then famous singer Arun Thapa in the year 1975. Late singer Arun Thapa only managed to give vocal to three massive hit songs---Bhulu Bhulu Lagyo Malai----Ankha Ko Nidh Khosi Lane and Katai Tada Timi Bata Bhule--- written and composed by Vikram Gurung. However, their collaboration did not last long as Vikram Gurung headed to Kathmandu for higher studies as Arun Thapa stayed in Pokhara and continued his musical journey there. 'I had written few songs for Arun Thapa but he was not is good health at the time to sing those songs,' Vikram Gurung recalls memories as he looks towards Ambar Gurung, Pokhreli, who had composed music for songs, as they rehearsal with the Paleti team. Remembering past glories and beautiful moments, Vikram Gurung will share those moments and entertain the audience in the upcoming Paleti concert on July 26, 27 and 28. 'Although Vikram Dai had composed and written few songs, his melodious voice and soothing music have always touched me,' Paleti Coordinator and music arranger Aavas said. Ticket booking can be done through Paleti’s social media pages and through Nepalaya. Online booking and purchase can also be made through www.thrupai.com, paleti@nepalaya.com.np, according to the statement.
