- Eight of a single family among the victims. Bodies of six recovered, two children missing

Twelve persons are feared dead after landslides triggered by heavy rains struck three places of Satyawati Rural Municipality in Gulmi this morning. Bodies of eight, including six of a family, were recovered. It is said the possibility of finding four missing persons alive is slim. Two persons were injured in the disaster.
Six members of a family died when a landslide swept away a house at Limgha Bhirkuna of Satyawati Rural Municipality, while two persons of the same family have gone missing.
Superintendent of Police Dipak Kumar Basnet at District Police Office Gulmi identified the deceased as Pampha BK, 25, Nirmala BK, 25, Simani BK, 7, Chhali BK, 60, Anjali BK, 12 and Hemant BK, 10. Nirmala’s son Suman BK, 5, and daughter Tara BK, 8, are missing, said SP Basnet.
Tilak Taramu, 34, and his son Darshan, 9, were killed after a landslide swept away their house at Thulo Lumpek of Satyawati Rural Municipality. Tilak’s daughters Dhani Taramu, 13, and Karishma, 10, were injured in the incident. They were rescued and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, said SP Basnet.
Maya BK, 40, and Babi BK, 16, went missing after another landslide washed away Rudra BK’s house at Dangsiga of Satyawati Rural Municipality.
Gulmi CDO Yadunath Poudel said an emergency meeting of District Disaster Management Committee was held and personnel of Nepal Police, Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, locals and political party cadres and leaders had launched a search operation for the missing.
Landslides have put 15 houses in Limgha and 55 houses in Singdi of Satyawati Rural Municipality in peril.
