Rautahat flood victims receive relief

Rautahat, July 29 Rural Development Centre Nepal distributed relief to flood victims of Ishnath and Rajpur municipalities in collaboration with OXFAM Nepal in Rautahat today. Rautahat District Coordination Committee Coordinator Ram Ekbal Yadav gave away relief to flood victims of Fatuwa Mahespur in Rajpur Municipality.  Yadav said that non-governmental organisations had done a commendable job by distributing relief to flood victims. He urged the three tiers of the government — federal, provincial and local levels — to do the needful to prevent any epidemic from spreading, besides providing food and other necessary relief materials to the victims. RDC Nepal Chairman Pasar Hussain said his office had provided two rubber boats and life jackets to the District Disaster Relief Committee before the onset of monsoon. Hussain said his office had requested OXFAM to provide relief to the victims of floods that struck the district on July 11 and 12. Relief Distribution Programme Coordinator Bijay Sah said as many as 951 flood victims of Ishnath and Rajpur municipalities received with relief materials, including hygiene kits, plastic buckets, mugs and tents, among other items.
