Bajura, August 12 The Sanphe-Martadi road section has been obstructed after the road collapsed due to the floods in the different rivers of Bajura district. Transportation service was obstructed yesterday after the road collapsed due to erosion caused by the Budhiganga River in Budhiganga Municipality. Similarly, the road along the Sanphe-Martadi section was also submerged after landslides occurred in a dozen places. The road near the bridges of Barjugard and Guigard rivers, Balde, Tipada and Paninaula, among other places, has been obstructed due to landslides. Chief District Officer Ganga Prasad Neupane said transportation service along the Sanphe-Martadi section was halted as the road caved in following incessant rainfalls since Saturday night. He said a team of engineers from Sanphe Road Division Office had reached the site to open the obstructed road. “We have been holding discussions on how to open the obstructed road section soon,” he added. According to Bajura District Police Office, the road was dilapidated in many places while the risk of road collapse at other places has also increased. A police team has been deployed in the affected areas. A warning sign has also been put, said police. Locals have been facing problems going from one place to another due to the obstruction. Seven families of Budhiganga River areas were displaced following landslips. The road section was obstructed for three months last year too due to landslides.
