Sit-in at LMC
LALITPUR: The Nepal Municipal Employees’ Association, in collaboration with the members of various political parties, organised a sit-in protest at the Lalitpur sub-Metropolitan City (LMC) and locked up its offices, thereby barring mayor Prem Lal Maharjan and deputy mayor Keshab Khadkaand from entering their respective offices. — HNS
Scholarship trust
KATHMANDU: The Soil and Water conservation Society on Tuesday founded a Study Support Trust with a purse of Rs 1,00,000 to help the children of martyrs and injured pro-democracy activists pursue their studies. The body has also requested other people to contribue to the trust.— HNS
Teachers’ demand
Kathmandu: Fifteen teachers of the Department of English, Tribhuvan University (TU), on
Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the office of the TU vice-chancellor and also forwarded their six-point charter of demands. The teachers have, inter alia, demanded the
