Citizenship based on fake documents scrapped in Jajarkot

Jajarkot, August 14 Jajarkot District Administration Office has stripped a person of his citizenship certificate after the DAO discovered that he had acquired citizenship certificate by submitting fake documents. The citizenship certificate issued in the name of Kamal Pun was revoked by the DAO yesterday. Pun had submitted fake documents presenting Chankhe Pun of Nalgad Municipality 2 as his father. Kamal had submitted fake documents to the DAO and obtained citizenship by descent on 12 October  2018. He citizenship number was 062-0175-02133. CDO Lalit Kumar Basnet said  Kamal’s citizenship was scrapped and police had been directed to take action as he had produced fake details to acquire the certificate. Police had taken both Kamal and Chankhe under control immediately after being informed that the citizenship was based on forged documents. Originally from Dang, Kamal had arrived in Jajarkot at a very young age after his father’s death. After his father’s death, his mother had married another man. When interrogated, Kamal told  police that he did not even know his surname. Staying at Chankhe’s house, Kamal had made Chankhe his father and obtained citizenship, he admitted.
