KATHMANDU: The central secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) proposed to appoint senior leader Bam Dev Gautam as the party’s vice-chairman on Friday. The post was created by Friday’s central secretariat meeting. Gautam had played a key role in the merger of CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre, which led to NCP’s formation. The NCP’s central secretariat has nine members. Gautam will formally become the party’s vice-chair after the decision is endorsed by the party’s standing and central committees.
