Khalti founder receives ICT award

Kathmandu, August 17 Amrit Agrawal, the founder member of Khalti mobile wallet, has secured the Entrepreneur ICT Award 2019 today. Khalti Mobile Wallet has received this award for digitalising the financial activities in the country. Likewise, Fuse Machine Nepal has won the Nepali Daispora ICT Award 2019 for making artificial intelligence (AI) accessible to everyone through education, software and services. It provides training to tech/software graduates to become AI engineers as well as provides AI products for sales. Similarly, Mahabir Pun, founder of National Innovation Centre, has received the Pioneer ICT Award 2019. While receiving his award, he requested stakeholders not to honour him with these kinds of awards. “It has now become a burden for me to receive such awards. I still have a lot of things to do and I am still struggling,” he said. Likewise, the Public Service Commission has received the Digital Governance ICT Award 2019. This award has been provided to the government organisation that is utilising ICT to communicate and provide services to the public. Meanwhile, Digital Education ICT award has been grabbed by Nepal Open University for promoting digital education system in the country. Rising Student ICT award has been received by Raktadan app. The app has been created by a team of students from Pulchowk Engineering College. The team includes Alex Bhattarai, Anish Dulal, Mitesh Pandey, Nishesh Wale and Vivek Timalsina. This app will facilitate blood donation campaigns as well as those who need and those who want to donate blood. Similarly, Product ICT Award 2019 has been provided to Mediflow system and services — a product created by Mediflow Solutions. This product is helpful for hospitals to keep records of patients. It is also useful for patients seeking information related to their ailment and related doctors. Likewise, E-digital Nepal has secured ICT Start-up Company Award for creating student management system software for more than 100 schools. Meanwhile, Public Choice ICT Award has been received by Kitab Yatra — an online bookstore app.
