CHITWAN: A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against three persons including TV host Rabi Lamichhane over the death of journalist Shalikram Pudasaini at Chitwan District Police Office through the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, on Sunday. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Uttam Raj Subedi at the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, Pudasaini's wife Samjhana filed the FIR against three persons -- Rabi Lamichanne, Yuvraj Kandel and Asmita Karki -- today. 'The FIR has been sent to the District Police Office, Chitwan, for further investigation,' SSP Subedi added. Chief at Chitwan DPO, Superintendent of Police (SP) Dan Bahadur Malla said, 'I have heard about an FIR lodged in Kathmandu but it has not yet arrived in Chitwan.' 'A police team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police and a special investigation team from Kathmandu have arrived in the district to assist local police in investigating the case,' DPO Spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ek Narayan Koirala said. The DPO has deputed a DSP-led team to investigate the case. Earlier, Pudasaini had committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan at a local hotel in Chitwan on August 06. Before taking his own life, Pudasaini had recorded a video, on the basis of which police apprehended TV host Lamichanne, Kandel and Karki from Kathmandu before sending them to Chitwan for necessary investigation. The suspects were presented before the Chitwan District Court on Friday and remanded in police custody for five days for further investigation. Meanwhile, the supporters of TV presenter Lamichanne have continued to stage demonstrations in front of the DPO demanding his immediate release since his arrest on Thursday. READ ALSO:
