Health workers reach cholera-hit areas

Dadeldhura: A medical team led by Minister of Physical Infrastructure Pathan Singh Bohora reached cholera hit areas on Thursday after the disease was detected at Parsuram Municipality in Dadeldhura. Stool tests of patients suffering from diarrhoea had confirmed the presence of cholera-causing bacteria. The team of health workers, along with the minister and Chief District Officer Raju Prasad Poudel, among others, reached affected areas. Cholera was detected in Sankhola, Dhadaliphata and Gupteshwor of the municipality. “We have been taking information about the affected area and have been coordinating as per the doctors’ advice,” said CDO Poudel. Health workers from Sandani Health Post led by Aananda Kumar Yadav have been providing health service to cholera patients. They have organised an awareness programme. Diarrhoea has been rampant in Sankhola, Dhadaliphata and Gupteshwor since August 15.
