Lamichhane, Kandel give their statements to Chitwan District Court

CHITWAN: The District Court, Chitwan has completed recording the statements of television presenter Rabi Lamichhane and journalist Yuvaraj Kandel this afternoon. Recording of statements of the defendants had begun yesterday with Asmita Karki (Ruku) giving her statement to the District Court in connection with the death of journalist Shalikram Pudasaini. With this, the recording of statements is complete. 'The Court has finished recording the statements of all three defendants. Now, a bail hearing will take place after which the Court will decide whether to release them on a general date, grant bail or remand them to custody until the verdict is passed,' informed court official Rudra Mani Giri. District Attorney’s Office, Chitwan, on Sunday filed a charge-sheet against Lamichhane, Kandel and Karki at the District Court in connection with the case. The Office has sought a fine of Rs 50,000 and five years’ sentence or both for each of the three in line with Criminal Code Act, 2017. Meanwhile, District Administration Office (DAO), Chitwan had today issued a notice that more than five people at a time were not allowed around the premises of the District Court and District Police Office (DPO). Similarly, the DPO had also prohibited movement of vehicles on the road outside the DPO and District Court to prevent demonstrations. READ ALSO:
