Bhairahawa, August 29 Buddhabhumi Municipality of Kapilvastu district has been declared child marriage-free and complete vaccination assured municipality. Speaking at a programme organised in the municipality on Tuesday, Mayor Keshav Shrestha made the formal announcement. The municipality has a total of 10 wards. “Perhaps, we are the first municipality in the Tarai belt to become a complete vaccination assured, child marriage-free and open defecation free municipality,” he said. People including Health and Population State Minister Surendra Yadav, Province 5 Provincial Assembly member Sahasram Yadav and another Provincial Assembly member Santosh Pandeya, among others, attended the programme.
