Dhangadi, August 30 An application was filed at Kanchanpur District Court today against TV host Rabi Lamichhane and sacked Central Investigation Bureau police officer Angur GC over contempt of court case. While Lamichhane runs Sidha Kura Janatasanga programme on News24, GC is a former deputy superintendent of police, who was sacked from his job on charge of dereliction of duty while handling rape and murder case of Nirmala Panta. The application was filed by Khadka Bista, brother of Dilip Singh Bista, the person whom police had paraded as the murderer of Nirmala Panta, but released after he was found innocent during a DNA test. According to the court registrar Harikrishna Awasthi, the petitioner has accused Lamichhane of committing a contempt of court by airing an interview of the sacked police officer at his programme, at a time when Panta’s murder case was sub-judice. “The application will be submitted to the judge on Monday as tomorrow is Saturday and we’ve a public holiday on Sunday,” said the court registrar. In the TV interview DSP GC had claimed that Bista was responsible for Pant’s murder.
