NC CWC agrees on 14 agendas

Kathmandu, September 3 A marathon meeting of the central working committee of the main opposition Nepali Congress concluded this evening, with ‘unanimous decision’ on all 14 agendas put forward. NC General Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka had presented the 14 agendas for the meeting on July 7. The meeting that ran for 16 sessions saw presentations from all the members of the party’s central working committee. The party will make public details of the outcome tomorrow morning, read an e-mail sent from the NC headquarters in Sanepa, Lalitpur. The 14-point agenda presented by Khadka included presentation of the draft ‘Nepali Congress Regulations 2019’ prepared by the drafting committee led by NC CWC member Ramesh Lekhak to prepare a work plan for the 14 General Convention as per the party statute Section 72 (4). The agendas also included renewal and issuance of active membership, presentation of first phase of NC nationwide awareness campaign; presentation of progress report by the NC’s Policy, Research, and Training Academy, and Central Discipline Committee; and prepare progress report of the NC’s merger with the then Nepal Loktantrik Forum led by Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar. Other agendas were amending the statute of sister organisations; imparting training to local level representatives from the party; discussion on a parallel committee formed in Tanahun; and contemporary issues in the country.
