Rajbiraj, September 17 Continuous rainfall since today morning has inundated Rajbiraj Municipality in Saptari. Rainfall has engulfed Siraha Road, Adalat Road, Ram Mandir and Campus Road, among other places. The locals are facing a hard time as rainwater did not get an outlet. “Rainwater has inundated the road due to lack of proper drainage system,” said entrepreneur Umakanta Sah of Rajbiraj. He said that it was very unfortunate that the municipality did not pay attention to the problem on time. Houses at wards 3, 4, 5, 7, 11 and 16 of the municipality were inundated as the municipality failed to manage proper drainage system. Govinda Sah, a businessman, said that property worth Rs million was destroyed after rainwater entered godowns and shops. School children are also facing problems due to the flood. A teacher at Durga Secondary School Bishnu Prabhakar Mandal said very few students were  attending school due to inundation.  Civil Network Saptari Founder Chairman Shukha Ram Yadav said people were facing problems due to the municipality’s carelessness.
