Birgunj, September 20 The Constitution Day in Birgunj was marked with protests  today. Protesters burnt copies of the constitution and showed black flags in Birgunj, which was the centre of Madhes agitation. Organised at the initiative of the Constitution Day District Ceremony Committee, Parsa, the protest programme saw the participation of various political parties, government offices, security agencies and students. Madheshi Janadhikar Forum Madhesh burnt the copies of the constitution in Birgunj today, demonstrating their dissatisfaction towards the statute. Bhagyanath Gupta-led group of the party burnt the copies of the constitution and staged demonstration with black flags at Ghantaghar of Birgunj. Shortly after the copies of the constitution were burnt, police reached the site and seized black flags from the demonstrators and dispersed groups assembled to hold the protest rally. Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal also held demonstration and organised the protest rally in Birgunj. A group of the party cadres led by its Province 2 Province Assembly member Ramesh Patel had participated in the protest with black flags.
