Body of girl missing in Myagdi river found

GALESHWOR: The body of one of the two children missing in Kotkhola, a river in Beni Municipality-2 of Myagdi district has been recovered. Prabina Pariyar (10) and Anuska Pariyar (8) had gone missing after sudden heavy rain-triggered floods in the river last Saturday night. The two children were swept away by the river while they were on a visit to the house of Maya Pariyar in Bagarphant. The body of Prabina was recovered from the river in Maldhunga area on Sunday evening, according to Myagdi District Police Office. The whereabouts of Anushka is still unknown, police informed. Meanwhile, the flooded river also completely damaged three houses and partly damaged another three in Bagarphant. Furthermore, the 18-room building of Buddha Academy in the locality was also completely damaged by the floods.
