Surkhet: A person was killed and nine others were injured in a jeep accident at Ratanagla of Birendranagar Municipality-14 in Surkhet district on Sunday morning. The District Police Office, Surkhet confirmed the death of Surendra Kumar Shahi, 25, of Hima Rural Municipality-1, Jumla in the accident involving the jeep ( Bhe 1 Ja 1084) en route to Jumla from Nepalgunj. The injured were rescued following the accident. Of them, two have been severely injured and they are being treated at the Karnali State Hospital Kalagaun. According to DPO's spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabi Rawal, the jeep fell some 100 meters down from the road after the driver lost control over it. Meanwhile, other injured are under treatment at the Birendranagar-based Maya Nursing Home. Further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
