Kathmandu, May 12:
UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal this morning conferred with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala at the latter’s official residence. The duo discussed ways to systematically run the government with the spirit of the People’s Movement.
“We discussed ways to systematically run the government with the spirit of the people’s aspirations,” Nepal told reporters after the meeting.
He said the PM needs to develop a system under which the government could accomplish its job effectively.
But he did not elaborate on the modalities of the system he suggested to the PM.
He also said he assured the PM of full cooperation in his endeavour to run the government.
On a row among alliance partners over the Speaker’s post, Nepal said, “The issue has already been settled in yesterday’s meeting and Subhas Nembang of the UML will be elected to the post.”
He also conceded the fact that the NC-D has also staked its claim over the post.
He said the alliance had already decided on Nembang’s name to the post of Speaker.
