Dhading, November 9 An under-construction bridge over the Trishuli River that connects Dhadingbensi with Nuwakot and Kathmandu has been left in the lurch in Galchhi Rural Municipality. The under-construction 192-metre long bridge is part of the Dhading-Koshikhola-Phosretar road section. Locals said construction work of the bridge could not gain momentum even after six years. Division Road Office, Bharatpur, under Central Regional Road Directorate had signed a contract with Himdung and Thokar Company and Sapana and Nagarjun Construction JV for construction of the bridge on 15 July 2014. As per the agreement, the bridge had to be completed on14 July 2017, but it wasn’t. Chief at Division Road Office, Bharatpur Krishna Raj Adhikari has claimed that construction of the bridge was in full swing. He said construction companies had delayed construction work earlier. “Construction work on the bridge has progressed since I took charge of the office,” he said. Locals have expressed concern about the sluggish construction work on the bridge.
