UDAYAPUR: A person died from gunshot injury while animal hunting in a forest of Katari Municipality in Udayapur district. The deceased has been identified as Shankar Raut (50), a local of Gothdanda, Hardevi in the municipality. Raut died on the spot. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sagar KC at Area Police Office, Katari, the incident occurred when one of his friends accidentally shot him with a muzzle-loader gun while hunting at Gothdanda in Katari Municipality-11. A group of five people had gone hunting, he added. Deceased Raut has been brought to Katari Hospital for postmortem, informed DSP KC. The police have arrested a person but have not divulged his details yet. Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway.
