DAMAULI: A wooden ambush was prepared in Thumki Community Forest to trap a female leopard after it attacked children at Bhanu Municipality, Tanahun. According to Division Forest Office, Tanahun, Haribhakta Dhakal, a local had prepared the cage to trap the leopard after it attacked children of wards 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the municipality. The leopard weighing around 45 kg was trapped in the cage. Chief at the division forest office Kedar Baral said the female leopard was lured into the cage with goat sheds built on the way. The trapped leopard was sent to Chitwan National Park on Tuesday. There is suspicion that more than one leopard roams the community forest as a child was killed on Tuesday after the female leopard was trapped. Earlier, two male leopards were trapped on October 3 and 28. As many as six children lost their lives and seven were injured in animal attacks in the past one-and-a-half years in the municipality.
