CHITWAN: Police on Thursday said two persons were arrested in possession of sophisticated arms from Hardi in Rapti Municipality-6 of Chitwan district. Spokesperson at District Police Office, Chitwan, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ek Narayan Koirala said, Madhukar KC, 37, of Dhanobari, Tulsipur Municipality-12 in Dang and Narayan Budathoki, 33, of Kapurkot Rural Municipality-5 in Salyan district were arrested with arms today. Police intercepted a motorbike (Ba 85 Pa 8084) heading westwards from Hardi in Rapti Municipality-6 and seized a 'Made in USA' inscribed automatic pistol and five rounds of live bullets, DSP Koirala added. A police patrol team deployed from Bhandara apprehended them around 3:00 am today. Police also seized the weapons, motorcycle, mobile phones for further investigation, DSP Koirala said. Police are preparing to file a charge-sheet against them under the Criminal (Code) Act, 2017.
