Nepalgunj, November 14 Traffic police have started pasting reflector (retro) stickers along the Nepalgunj-Kohalpur road to minimise road accidents in Banke. According to Banke District Traffic Police Office Chief Inspector Pabindra Bam, stickers are being pasted on road dividers and utility poles with a view to minimising accidents during night. “While the road doesn’t have street lights, speeding, jaywalking and random parking have contributed to increasing number of accidents,” he said. Further, Inspector Bam stressed the need to conduct public awareness campaigns to make traffic initiatives effective. “We’ve pasted reflector stickers, but they are not enough to minimise accidents. Everyone should be aware,” he said. According to data with traffic police, 29 accidents took place between September 29 and November 11, and seven persons were killed and 37 were injured during the period.
