Khotang, December 9 A group of unidentified people set a vehicle used by Rawabesi Rural Municipality Chair Lilanath Niraula on fire last night in Khotang. A Mahindra Scorpio used by the rural municipality Chair Niraula was set ablaze. The jeep was parked at his home at Dubekol of Rawabesi RM-5. According to Niraula, he heard a loud bang at night and saw that the vehicle had caught fire. Niraula had been using the Scorpio vehicle procured by the RM at a cost of Rs 3.8 million. Police personnel  from Kuvinde’s Haramtar and Aiselukharka had doused the fire. DSP Bamdev Gautam said that police had launched an investigation last night itself.
