2 held with 337 kg of hashish

Kathmandu, May 18:

Police today arrested two Indian nationals and seized a jeep that they were using to smuggle 337 kg of hashish to India.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Narcotic Drugs Control and Law Enforcement Unit at New Baneswor found the drugs hidden in the false bottom of the jeep — registration number HR 20 E 0525 — at Jyaple Khola of Badbhanjyang VDC-5 in Kathmandu. Two Indian nationals, Bharat Gupta, 26, of Bichhiyagram and Om Prakash Singh, 26, of Gorakhpur, were held. According to DSP Bibas Raj Udas, investigation is on to find out who else were involved in the racket exporting illegal drugs to India.
