Biplav-led CPN cadres arrested in Udayapur

GAIGHAT: Police have arrested two cadres of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) including the district secretary of Udayapur for forcing people into giving donations, today. District secretary Surendra Thapa and district member Dewan Chamling, also know as Dipesh Rai, of Shadananda Municipality in Bhojpur district, were arrested on the charge of forcing people to give donations in western region of the district. The duo was arrested from Dhapad in Katari Municipality-13, informed chief at District Police Office, Udayapur, Superintendent of Police (SP) Bir Bahadur Budhamagar. Donation receipts, Rs 32,000 in cash, eight mobile phones, and more than 30 sim cards were seized from their possession, said SP Budhamagar. Both the accused have been kept in custody and an investigation is underway.
