Terhathum, January 19 KP Sharma Oli Trust Nepal has started work to convert Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s ancestral home located at Iwa of Aathrai Rural Municipality, Terhathum, into a museum. Oli’s family had migrated to Damak of Jhapa from Aathrai in 1972. The house was abandoned for a long time after the family migrated. The Oli Trust Nepal has procured land for museum and agriculture study centre. A helipad has already been constructed near the house. According to Aathrai Rural Municipality Chair Bhim Ghimire, the trust has already bought 200 ropani land and is in the process of buying 200 ropani more for the museum and research centre. Local Bhagirath Bhusal has been working to preserve Oli’s home. The decision to convert Oli’s home into a museum and construct the agriculture study centre has both pleased and disappointed locals. “Construction of the research centre and infrastructure is good, but, the project should not displace the villagers,” said Binod Silwal, a local.
